description

Linked to the lighting sector, Carboy, Re Life, Secchio, Secchietto, Sirio, Fungo-Lucciola and ReCharge are proposals generated by Rethinking the Project. The Carboy suspension lamp is inspired by wine-making; in fact, its shape recalls that of a demijohn. However, its essence recalls the textile traditions of Prato. This lamp’s material makes it truly unique: it’s fashioned in felted wool. Thanks to a particular method used to create this material, Carboy lacks an internal structure and it’s ‘self-supporting’. Thanks to the felting process, this wool takes on increased body and develops a rigidity that allows it to be sculpted like ‘clay’, taking on desired shapes.
